When placing an order, please note that varying items are sold in different sized boxes and amounts. Below is a baseline reference for our most popular items (written specifically as a guideline for our growers). Please adjust your order accordingly and feel free to email with questions: cs.lamoniproduce@gmail.com. Thank you!

LOT SIZES

In June, we start separating produce into different lot sizes – small, medium and, once applicable, large. Following are the details for what each lot size includes:

SMALL LOTS

This section is where the less frequent, smaller quantity produce items go. Many individuals looking for personal use or fresh eating buy from this lot size. It includes single boxes of produce items – such as a peck of kohlrabi, one 10 lb box of tomatoes or even 4 quarts of black raspberries. All eggs and bakery items go on the small lots. Melons are sold 9-11 per tub (tub is to be left at site).  We do not sell single items at auction, with the exception of bakery items – for example, no single tomatoes or melons. We have a retail table, that is open during sales, where individual items and small amounts of produce are pre-priced and can be purchased at any time throughout the sale.

MEDIUM LOTS

You must have at least three boxes of a particular type of produce to sell on the medium lots. For example, at least 3 pecks of beets, 3 half bushels of zucchini, 3 bushels of cauliflower, or 3 boxes of tomatoes (needs to be 3 – 10lb boxes or 3 – 20lb boxes…. not a mix of each).

For masters, you must have at least 2 – 8 quart masters or 2 – 12 pint masters (not one of each). Bags of cabbage can be one bag, but must have 10 heads or more. Sweet corn needs to be at least 3 bags of 5 dozen each bag.

Cantaloupe need to be half a bin of 30 or more. Sugar cubes need to be at least 2 bushel boxes. Watermelon should be no less than 12 large or medium melons. You must have 3 or more 10lb bags of onions or potatoes (again, not a mix). Cauliflower and broccoli must be at least 1 bushel with 8 or more heads.

All items should be sorted by size and grouped and marked accordingly.

LARGE LOTS

Watermelon and cantaloupe should be a full bin of 60 or more. All boxed produce must be in quantities of 10 or more (such as tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, pickles, peppers, etc). Bags of potatoes and onions must also be in quantities of 10 or more. Large lots sell first (except on Pumpkin Day) and will be sold from the pavilion for ease of loading.
